Oxygen Audio- O-Car Head Unit

When we released our inTOUCH Mobile product at SEMA 2010, we received tons of great feedback on the product.  ISIS Power gave the market powerful capabilities to control cars through the iPhone, iPad and the iPod touch. 

Since then, lots of customers have been looking for the ideal cradle or docking solution for their iPhone in the car.  They were looking for a place to cradle their phone, charge it and have it accessible to use it to the fullest.  Most importantly, the phone needs to be in a place that is easy to access plus it needs to be able to be popped in and out easily. 

Oxygen Audio has a great solution with their O-Car Audio System.

O-Car is the only full-integrated head unit specifically designed and made for iPhone. Its patented technologies enable the user to control all standard car stereo functions using the iPhone touch screen, while allowing horizontal and vertical access, so that all iPhone applications may be used in the car: Listen to your entire iTunes music catalog, make a hands-free phone call or sync a Bluetooth headset, access your favorite iPhone apps for the car (GPS, Pandora, and most importantly, the ISIS Power App), or listen to your favorite hometown channel on Internet radio.


The Car’s built in RDS tuner ensures that you can still listen to your favorite local radio stations and its 4x55W amp links to all of your car’s speakers to guarantee perfect quality sound.

Meanwhile, your iPhone charges while it is clipped into the head unit.

This is a single DIN unit that will easily fit into most cars and trucks.

GTM Start with inTOUCH MAX Screen

We blogged yesterday about our customer in Puerto Rico who is wiring his Factory Five GTM with our ISIS Intelligent Multiplex System.  He had posted a video on YouTube showing off how he can control the car through his iPhone using our inTOUCH Mobile. 

He is installing the works in this car.  Not only has he wired the car with our 3-Cell Kit and added inTOUCH Mobile for control off of his iPhone, but he has our inTOUCH MAX double DIN touch screen in his dash to replace most of his switches. 

On one hand, ISIS is adding a lot of functions to his car: iPhone control, lighting control, delays, timers, touch screen interfaces, etc.  Sometimes, ISIS true benefits come from what it eliminates from the car.  In this case, he has eliminated the need for extra relays, fuses and high current switches.  In particular, the inTOUCH MAX screen dramatically reduces the number of switches in the car.  It completely streamlines the dash. 

Here is a simple video of him starting the car with the inTOUCH MAX screen.  The car is in the go-kart stage and nothing is mounted yet but you can get a good feel for what you can do with it.

GTM Controlled by ISIS inTOUCH Mobile

A lot of people try to compare ISIS to a traditional wiring harness.  Here is a great example of something that you can't do with an old-fashioned box of fuses and relays with snakes of wire. 

Hugo H has been an ISIS customer for several years.  He is building a Factory Five GTM in his shop on Puerto Rico.  If you get some time, check out some of the videos on his YouTube channel.  There is something very exotic about palm trees.  We certainly don't have that here in Chicago. 

Any way, he is making great progress on his GTM build.  He is wiring his car with our 3-Cell Kit.  He has added inTOUCH Mobile and inTOUCH MAX to add that extra level of control in his car. 

He just posted a video on YouTube showing off how he can control his car from his iPhone.  Through his iPhone with the ISIS Power app and inTOUCH Mobile, he can control his lighting, security, locks, windows and more. 

inTOUCH Mobile is an easy upgrade to any 2 or 3-Cell Kit.  There are no extra electronics boxes to mount in the car, nor are there complicated connections to make. You simply add the inTOUCH Mobile Wi-Fi board to the MASTERCELL to get control that no other wiring system can offer you.

Debut of Alson Racing 20120 Drag Camaro

Mike Ruth and his team at Alston Racing just debuted their new 2012 Camaro drag car.  This is built on their own tube chassis with a body produced by VFN.  Mike and his team have put a ton of effort into this car and it showed when they ran it for the first time at Great Lakes Dragaway in Union Grove, Wisconsin this week. 
Simon Gough is the owner, and he flew in from England to take the car on its maiden run down the track this week.  This was a great chance for him to break it in and get a good feel for how it runs.  After a few test & tune runs, they had it dialed in perfectly. 

We have been working with the Alston team to create their own Alston Performance Electrical System, which is a revolutionary wiring system for all types of drag cars and dragsters.  It uses our rock-solid ISIS Power system with a simple bank of switches to control all of the switched functions including lights, starter solenoids, fuel pumps, water pumps, cooling fans, trans cooler fans, dash power and MSD power.  Just like any of our other ISIS solutions, it offers a much simpler wiring harness with less weight and less complexity.  The owner's first comment when he saw ISIS installed in the car was "Where is all of the wiring?". 

As an added benefit, ISIS gives Simon's crew important diagnostic functions to help them find electrical problems right there at the track.

Detailed GTM Project Blog

We love a really organized, planned and documented car project.  We stumbled across a great one. 

This guy is building a Factory Five GTM and he is taking it pretty extreme.  We have been working with him to specify the right ISIS Power components that he will need to wire this car.  He has a lot of electronics functions in the car and wants the best way to control them.  At the same time, he doesn't want a ton of wire in the car nor does he want a bunch of extra relays. 

He's planning on using our 3-Cell Kit for all of the base car functions with an extra POWERCELL.  We have a configuration specific to the GTM.  You can see it here.  From there, he wants to add inMOTION to control his power windows and the tilt/telescope functions on the Corvette steering column.  He wants to add inVIRONMENT to control his Vintage Air Gen-IV heat & air-conditioning system.  Lastly, he wants to add inRESERVE to manage his battery. 

He has everything laid out neatly in a schematic, even before he has ordered his hardware.

Pioneer Camaro Hit at SPOCOM 2012

We just got a great video from Nevill O at 5 Axis.  They built a great looking Gen I Camaro for the 2011 CES show in Las Vegas to show off their car audio equipment.  This car was wired with our ISIS Power 3-Cell Kit and inLINK.  Nevill and his guys chose ISIS to replace the stock wiring in the car. 

Since CES, they have been taking this car everywhere around Southern California.  Most recently, they had it at SPOCOM 2012 in Anaheim.  They won the "Best Camaro" category. 

SPOCOM is the nation’s largest automotive consumer exhibit and show focusing on the culture surrounding young adults. Each event features over 75 of the industry’s top brands, media, and event promoters on display as well as 350+ of the nations top show cars competing for the most prestigious car show trophy in the country. The SPOCOM tour reaches out to automotive & pop culture tastemakers alike.  Winning "Best Camaro" at this show is another feather in the cap of Nevill and his team.

ISIS in New 10-75 Command Truck

The guys at 10-75 Lighting have been very busy.  They just delivered their latest command vehicle to the Pompton Lakes Fire Department.  This is based on a 2012 Chevy Tahoe. 

Ryan Dodd and his team have been wiring their trucks with our ISIS Power system for several years now.  Each truck that they build is slightly different from the last so our system allows them to be flexible and nimble to keep up with their customer requirements.  Additionally, they dramatically reduce the amount of wiring that they have to run through the truck which means that they can reduce the amount of their time required to run harnesses. 

They are controlling all of the alley lights, scene lights, grill lights, takedown lights, wig-wags and lightbars with ISIS.  Here's is a video showing off their latest truck.

Jeep YJ Wired with ISIS

Our ISIS Intelligent Multiplex System can used to wire practically any car, truck or vehicle.  It is designed to stand up to the abuse of the harshest commercial vehicle applications.  Here's another great off-road example. 

Sam P is an ISIS customer who was building a Jeep YJ for a customer.  Here's a picture of the Jeep as he got it. 

And here is the finished product.

Sam needed a simple electrical system to wire this Jeep.  He wanted it to go in easily but also survive off-road conditions.  That is what he got with ISIS.
